Unique Dramatic Cantilever House Design in Mexico City
Metal house design with its structure hanging over bushes
Modern houses built with dramatic cantilever frames that hang over hills look spectacular. The cantilever house designs enhance architectural interiors with panoramic views, adding drama to contemporary spaces. Architecture studio LBR&A designed a residence that is innovative and unique. Located in a Mexico City neighborhood, the modern house adds an attractive detail to the landscape, offering breathtaking views from beautiful interiors.
The CH73 House sits on a long, slender site that slopes toward a ravine. A dark metal structure cantilevering over lush bushes saves the natural environment by allowing rainwater to reach the soil and native plants to grow under the frame. The modern house design is sustainable and innovative.

The bottom level has concrete walls, while the upper level is framed with steel. A dark-hued wax patina adds an aged look to the steel structural elements. The house’s exterior walls at the entrance are clad in marble. The rear facades are more transparent, with glazed walls that usher in daylight and offer extensive views.
Modern interior design offers flexibility in the use of living spaces. An open-plan living room features granite floors, red bookshelves, and grey seating furniture. The kitchen has a sliding door made of metal and frosted glass.
Overall, this modern house is an excellent example of how sustainable practices can be incorporated into the design to achieve net-zero energy use and promote ecological well-being.
